Jack the Reaper
Jack the Reaper
Jack's prized possession - a 1970 AMC Gremlin named Ruby
Jacqueline just had the best year of her life: she has her learner’s permit (and isn’t afraid to use it), her overbearing father (finally!) let her go to public school, and she got her very first (and very cute) boyfriend, Carter. Oh, and last year she didn’t have to kill anyone.
For Jack, death is a family job – one she can’t turn down. As of her sixteenth birthday, she is the newest reaper-in-training, and it is now her touch, not her father’s, that ushers souls to the other side.
Everything is going smoothly, and juggling her two lives is a breeze (okay, there was that one incident, but it really wasn’t that big a deal). Then she gets a new name on her kill order – Carter’s.

Jack’s voice was in my head long before I knew her story. I was writing Incubus when she first showed up, so I tried to push her aside so I could finish. But she was having
none of that! (side note: you know you have a problem when the voices in your head
start talking back.) So, I set Incubus aside and started work on Jack’s story.
