Hi, I’m Rachel, but we should be friends, so you can go ahead and call me Rae. Hmmm, what can I tell you about me?
I’m a mommy and a writer. A wife and a friend. A student and Russian lover. A freelance editor and voracious reader.
I have a deep and undying love of Young Adult novels. I can’t get my hands (or eyes) on enough of them!
I was born in Great Falls, Montana to an accountant mother and postal worker father. Being blessed with an overactive imagination (or what some would call craziness), I started writing at a young age. My first book – written when I was seven – was based on the horror movie The Blob. Don’t worry, my writing has gotten significantly better (and more original) since then.
After high school, I led a nomadic life, living in Idaho, Hawai’i, and North Carolina before making my way back to Montana. I now live in Bozeman with my computer-geek husband, super awesome son, and adorable (and annoying) pets.
Also, I am a lover of lists. Ergo, me in list form:
- born in Montana, lives in Montana, Southerner at heart
- married to the most wonderful man ever
- Mama to Baby Caveman, a crazy, rambunctious little monster
- loves movies, music, and books
- strives to find beauty in ordinary things
- will forever use the serial comma, regardless of what Oxford says
- can quote every line of Young Frankenstein and 101 Dalmations (the cartoon version, not the lame-ish live action)
- learning to love running
- has immense knowledge of useless trivia
- hates wearing shoes but owns fifty pairs
- deeply terrified by scary movies and loves watching them anyway
- proud supporter of indie artists
- loves cooking, especially baking and decorating goodies
- a fruit-aholic
- lover of nature and the great outdoors
- knows happiness is a choice and chooses it daily
