Okay, my birthday is officially today, so I promise that after this post you don’t have to hear me go on about it again for a full year! For a special birthday Two-For-Tuesday, I thought I would share my TWO birthday cakes with you (yeah, that’s right).
1. Fancy Pants
That’s a white chocolate and cranberry cake. I jacked the recipe from a waiting room at the hospital when Bubba had an emergency appendectomy last July. I have been waiting for a chance to use it ever since. I made this cake for when Rani and my parents came to visit a week and a half ago. I will share the recipe soon (it is definitely one worth sharing), but I don’t have the time to type it out today.
2. Tradition
That’s a lemon cake (out of a box) with lemon frosting (out of a can). I normally make my cakes from scratch, but I just *love* this lemon on lemon combo. I made a lemon-on-lemon cake for my birthday last year, but it was much fancier (and involved like 6 hours of lemon zesting). This year I decided to just go back to the basics and throw one together out of a box. My step-mom made this cake for a birthday way back in the day because she knew I liked lemon stuff, and I have had lemon cake in some form on my birthday every year since.
Now, I am off to enjoy the rest of the day!

Yay! Another taurus. *g* Happy birthday, I hope you have a great day.
The cakes look delicious. =D
Well, I wished you an Early Happy Birthday and now I’m wishing you a Belated Happy Birthday. Hope your day was wonderful. Both of those cakes look delicious. I LOVE lemon on lemon. I like the Pillsbury kind with pudding in the mix and I always add a little sour cream. Makes it deliciously moist!
Mmmm…that sounds good. Now I want to go home and eat more cake! (Didn’t know that was even possible, as I *thought* I was all caked-out.)
Thanks again for the birthday wishes!
Happy belated bday! And what lovely cakes!!!!! Makes me wish we had birthdays to celebrate every day. (Actually, it’s my son’s bday today. We’re celebrating with banana cake balls covered in chocolate!)
mmmm….that sounds yummy!
