Oh, Timothy!

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…

- I love that you are the first car to ever have my name on the title.
- I love that your fetching bumper feature makes it impossible to mistake another car for my own.
- I love that you put up with me through all those long road-trips and concert tours.
- I love that, when you decided you needed a new clutch, you waiting until after I got back home instead of giving up somewhere between North Carolina and Montana.
- I love that when I lock my keys in you, I can easily climb through the unlockable trunk and let myself back in.
- I love how patient you were when I used you to teach all my friends to drive a stick shift.
- I love that you cost about 10 cents to register and insure.
- I love your great, great, great gas mileage.
- I love that you never once grumbled when we welded an old oil barrel to your muffler to patch up your exhaust system.
- Most of all, I love that you were not upset, but rather relieved, when I told you about this:

I love the way you think, Rachel. Most of us would not think about talking to our car that way. I must admit I think they have faces and feelings. What you posted here would make a really fun scrapbook page. The list is great journaling! See, I can think like a writer too, even if it’s just journaling for a scrapbook!!!
So, is Marcus the new car or only a dream at this point?
Wow. I am impressed that you picked up on his name being Marcus. And yep, it is our new car! We LOVE it…but it does have a lot of oomph behind it, so we have to be very careful to not speed.
Timothy has been like a good friend to me for a long time. I will miss that little buddy. Oh, by the way, expect a call from your son tonight. We kept saying he needed to call, but it got too late before he picked up his phone last night. Happy birthday!
So, is the new car really a direct descendent of Corvinus? Fare thee well, Timothy. Well done and well met, old and faithful friend. Through trunks unlocked and bumpers bent, we’ve come at last to journey’s end.
I am going to show off my total lameness here and let you know I have never seen the Underworld movies. I had to look up the Cornivus reference. *sigh* I am totally uncultured.
