Fast Five…

…things you might not know about me:

1. My favorite bands are The Beatles and Aerosmith.  I can rock out to them all day and all night. But, I am not afraid to admit that I also kinda love Britney Spears. Her third album rocks my world on a regular basis. Also, I love me some Taylor Swift, but I don’t think people look down on that the way they do my love of Britney.

2. Soon, very soon, I will be starting a complete rewrite of Incubus. I promised myself I wouldn’t do this, but after a lot of thought, I have decided it is the right thing for the book. So yeah, I totally lied to myself. I will get over it.

3. When I was four, I thought I could be a cat. Apparently, I also thought cats walked around with their noses on the ground. My family made fun of me for the rug-burn on my nose for a long time. Now that I reminded them, I will surely be mocked again. Crap.

4. I am 99.99% sure I have Seasonal Affective Disorder (I am only not 100% sure because I don’t want to go pay someone to tell me what I already know and then try to throw pills at the problem-no thank you!). Basically this means I get depressed in the winter time. I sleep much longer than normal, but not well at all, so getting out of bed is one of the hardest chores I have. Also, it makes it so little things, like dropping my pencil at work, make me want to cry sometimes. It is no fun. It also means that, no matter how much I love Montana or how beautiful I think it is, it kind of sucks living here during the long winters.

5. I am 25, and my hair has never been longer than this:

18 February 2010

I had to work real hard to grow it that long instead of just cutting it off. Hairstyles like this:

8 September 2007

8 September 2007

and this:

9 July 2006

have always been more common for me. And once (though I have been tempted to do it many more times than just one), I did this:

1 January 2007

Your turn! Tell me five random things about you.

First of all, I love Aerosmith and Britney and Taylor. The Beatles are awesome, too, but they aren’t in my top fav artists.

    5 random things about me:
    1. My husband and I had tickets last summer to see Aerosmith in concert, but then Stephen Tyler fell off the stage and the rest of the tour was cancelled, so we weren’t able to go. :(

    2. I saw Britney Spears in concert 2000 and she said HELLO to the wrong state when she opened the concert.

    3. I only go to the expensive theatre to see Harry Potter movies or movies that don’t come to the cheap theatre. Because I am cheap, you see. It feels silly to pay $10 for a movie when I can pay $6 for it down the road.

    4. I have won a contest that gives me the opportunity to purchase Yankees @ Red Sox tickets (the most coveted tickets in baseball) two years in a row now.

    5. Over the years, I have kept almost all of my movie ticket stubs. The oldest one I have? Armageddon from 1998.

How fun! Thanks for playing. I used to keep all of my ticket stubs too, and still do sometimes. I wonder what my oldest is….I might have to go check.

I saw Aerosmith back in 2002 and it was EPIC. I hope they work through whatever kerfuffle they have going on right now and do some more shows–they are great live. I am sad for you that you weren’t able to see them. :(

  2. High Five... things
    Posted 25 February 2010 at 2:05 pm | Permalink

Not sure how this is supposed to go, so I’m going to post the first five things that pop into my head.

    1. I have only every broken one bone: the middle finger of my left hand. It happened on the very last play of my high school football career. It doubled in size, turned purple and gave me the only honestly good reason I’ve ever had to flip off lots and lots of humans.

    2. I love smothering bananas, slightly green still, with peanut butter. I am sure there are millions of similar people out there, so no biggie.

    3. My favorite car is a 1991 two-tone (black and silver) diesel suburban. It was our family travel wagon for a decade, after which I drove it. So many great memories (most of my loves have a hint of nostalgia). It was laid to rest when I annihilated a dear on the way home from being set apart as a missionary.

    4. I used to hate country music. When my family moved out to Glasgow, MT, we had literally 2 FM stations: one country and one “best of the seventies, eighties, and nineties.” I was force-fed country, because the other station made me want to gnaw off my own arm every time I listened to it.

    5. I am driven by the absence of my little brother. I think about him almost every day, and a great many of my positive actions are prodded on by his memory, by where he is now, and by who we are becoming as individuals.

I used to hate Country music, too! But we both know I can jam to it now.

I am absolutely positive that Gavin is proud of you and who you have become. You rock.
