Rob Zombie remaking “The Blob”
We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming:
I work in the movie business, so I have a LOT of movie news coming in every day. Normally, I will not be posting about movie news (unless, of course, I learn that y’all actually like for me to), but this one is too good (read: BAD) to not mention.
Rob Zombie, who apparently only wants to make horror remakes (that really should not be remade), has just announced he will be doing a remake of the 1958 film “The Blob”. The original holds a special place in my heart. If you remember-my first book was inspired by “The Blob” when I was seven years old.
Now, here is what I don’t get: According to Zombie, “My intention is not to have a big red blobby thing — that’s the first thing I want to change.” What?! “The Blob” with NO BLOB? It just doesn’t make sense. Or maybe it’s just me.
Here’s a thought Rob: why don’t you try your hand at something original, instead of just crappy remakes. Or, you know, stick to music.
We will return shortly with our regularly scheduled, writing-related, blog post.
